Cavan Gaels mourn the deaths of Paddy Maguire and Finbar Noonan.
We remember Paddy Maguire and Finbar Noonan who have died recently. Both were former playing members of Cavan Gaels. Paddy Maguire played on the winning senior league teams of 1958, 1960 and 1962. He also played on the team which won the first senior championship title for Cavan Gaels in 1965 when he kicked the winning point. His sons Fergal and John played for the club also. Fergal was club secretary from 1995-1998.
Finbar Noonan played hurling for Cavan Gaels for a number of years during the successful years. He was on the team which won the senior double in 1983 and the championship in 1984. Finbar captained the team in 1984.Finbar's sons, Charlie and davy, were prominent players on Cavan Gaels football teams for a number of years. May they rest in peace.
